Nominations

The next municipal election will be held on Wednesday, November 13,2024 for the offices of Reeve, Division 1, Division 3, Division 5, and Division 7.

Important dates

October 9, 2024 - Nomination Day

November 6, 2024 - Advance Poll (if necessary)

November 13, 2024 - Election day (if necessary)

The nomination period will open mid-September and close at 4:00 pm on October 9, 2024.

All nomination forms must include a Personal Disclosure Statement.

To be eligible for nomination, you must be:

at least 18 years old on Election Day
not disqualified by any Act
a Canadian Citizen
eligible to vote in the RM
has resided in Saskatchewan for at least 6 consecutive months immediately prior to the date nomination forms are submitted.

Nomination papers need at least 2 signatures from eligible voters in the division you are running in.

Signatures for Reeve can be anyone eligible to vote in the RM.

Candidates must write their names as it is to appear on the ballot
The Candidates must complete and sign the candidate’s acceptance form
The Candidate’s acceptance must be signed by two witnesses please note RM of Barrier Valley election officials cannot sign as witness to the Candidate’s acceptance form

To be eligible to vote, you must:

1. be at least 18 years old

2. be a Canadian citizen

3. qualify as one of the following:

reside in the RM of Barrier Valley for at least 3 consecutive months. immediately before election day.
be a registered land owner in the RM of Barrier Valley.
be assessed with respect to land in the RM.
the spouse of a person mention in one of the above.
